Director Biography - Maria Lee Metheringham

Maria has worked in the film industry for over 13 yeara and has taken on many roles around being a Director, including Acting, producing, writing, casting, editing, production management, having involvement in all aspects from pre to post production. Maria has had films released in the USA and Europe. Starting off as an experimental Director, then moving into the horror genre and more recently tackling deep and meaningful topics with a dark twist.

Director Statement

LENA (Latin for Seductress) is a sexy stylish, gritty and neon infused short film which explores the characteristics of the femme fatale. I wanted to make something driven by dark and sexy music and visuals without the need for a clunky script. Sometimes the visuals alone can tell a story and your mind fills in the gaps. The script was adapted and rewritten a few times along the way as the story came into its own.
