Gabriel, a young writer who achieved great
success with his first novel, finds his life
spiraling downward when his second book
turns out to be a resounding failure.
In a desperate attempt to reclaim his former
glory, he accepts a deal from a prominent
publisher: travel to Guanajuato and write a
book in one month. There, he meets Mara, an
illustrator burdened by the profound
disappointment in her own life.
The dissatisfaction they both feel connects
them, forging an undeniable bond at the
expense of their respective partners. Together,
they can feel like someone else: that someone
they long to be.

Director Biography - Leonardo Tamariz

Originario del estado de Querétaro, Leonardo es licenciado en cinematografía del
Centro de Estudios Cinematográficos en Guadalajara. Fue certificado por el curso
intensivo de actuación y dirección en películas por Luis Mandoki. Como director y
guionista, sus proyectos cinematográficos más importantes fuera de los proyectos
del CEC, destacan algunos de sus cortometrajes:
Mil noches de silencio
(2019),
el cual formó parte de la selección en Shorts México y fue presentado en la
Cineteca Nacional,
Imperio
(2021), cuyo guión fue galardonado en el festival de
terror Fóbica Fest, y
Artificio
(2022). Dirigió el video musical
Blood and rain
de la
banda After Rekiem en 2019.
Las sábanas de Marruecos
es su primer
largometraje.
