Experiencing Interruptions?

Küme

Fethi is a reserve forward for a low-level football team. Embala, the main forward, disappears using the death of his mother as an excuse. The next night, there is a very critical match. If the team loses, they will be relegated. The management desperately goes to Fethi's house. They want Fethi to play in the match with an injection, despite being injured. Fethi is against it at first, but is forced to accept. The team falls behind 0-1 in the match. Fethi shows a mediocre performance. The turning point of the match is the clear goal opportunity that Fethi missed in the last minutes. Thus, all the blame falls on Fethi. In the locker room, the technical director says very harsh words to Fethi. The team president, in addition to insulting Fethi, also uses violence. While Fethi is walking out of the stadium injured, the team's tribune leader starts to insult Fethi while drunk and blames him for the match. Fethi cannot stand it and vents his anger-filled words on the tribune leader.

Director Statement

90% of men in Turkey are more or less interested in football. In fact, a large portion of this rate played football when they were children or young people. When we examine this segment, we hear various stories such as either playing when he was young and quitting or being prevented by his family. Although Turkey is perhaps the country with the highest interest in football after Brazil, it is not considered to be in the same place in terms of success. Türkiye has invested 1.2 Billion TL in football since 2001. (stadiums, facilities, training, etc.) In the last 5 years, Turkish clubs have paid more than 1 billion TL in transfer fees. When we look at the results, the Turkish National Team is currently 37th in the FIFA National Teams Rankings, and our top club is 56th in the UEFA Club Rankings. Our last success was only achieved 24 years ago. In this country where everyone has an opinion and uncles become commentators in coffeehouses, why is football unsuccessful? Maybe we need to look at the roots of this. To the lower leagues... In the movie, our story takes place in a football club in the lower leagues, which is not frequented by the media or television, but is subject to mobbing, threats, tears, blood and violence. There is one last league match left and if our team loses this match, it will be relegated. Salaries are not paid in the club, which is not specific to the lower leagues, we can easily say that the salaries are still not paid in the upper level leagues as well. This story is the story of a football player who had to play injured in this team. It is both a character's journey and a social criticism as a manifestation of "football is not just football"...
