Kristy LaPointe is Canadian & American writer whose background performing comedy & writing satire for Reductress led to her role as The Beaverton’s social media manager, then to creating & writing CBC Comedy’s Yoga 101. After dabbling in improv, directing short films and auditioning for far too many commercials, Kristy's heart and brain finally settled on writing for tv & film.
Her first feature screenplays Let’s Do This and Alter were selected for Breaking Through The Lens, Harold Greenberg Funding, the RIFF Talent Lab and WIFTV’s Genre Film Lab, even though she’s honestly more of a tv guy. Her specialties include writing wordy dialogue and passionate ambitious dreamers whose lives haven’t ended up as they meticulously planned….from A-type teenage try hards to burnt out adults and absurdly co-dependent best friends.
Recently she’s been developing projects with Peacock Alley, Vortex Productions and Blue Ice Pictures, and definitely not hoarding the writers room sparking water.
