Director Statement

"Korak" star and writer Ronnie Shalvis brought the idea to director Josh Romeo of a gritty version of Tarzan to showcase stunt skills including Ronnie's parkour and barefoot climbing and Josh's stunt rigging and wire work.

We spent a few months sporadically testing stunts that we could include in the short but were having difficulty finding a passable rainforest location in Atlanta for Korak to maneuver in and pulling the trigger on how we were going to shoot it. Because of this limitation, I made the decision to lean more into the horror aspects: focusing on the perspectives of the mercenaries and only showing glimpses of Korak as he attacks only to disappear again into the [nonexistent] canopy.

The cast and crew is almost entirely comprised of professional stunt performers.
