Director Statement

I come from a country where it's very hard to find hope.

There are very little examples of people who have dragged themselves by their bootstraps.

Every year the government fights corruption while they borrow away our futures in order to fund their expensive appetites.

I wanted to make a movie that showed what is like to be Nigerian. To be blessed with talent and still fail because of lack of access, lack of care, corruption and sabotage.

Nigerian Cinema at present is riddled with fluff pieces that try to feed stories of glamour and wealth that do not accurately reflect the reality of the country that most of Nigerians live in.

Knock Out Blessing is my attempt at doing this.

A dark satire of the current state of Nigeria and the world at large, I reflect society back at itself through the story of three women burdened with hope in a country that is well versed in extinguishing it out.
