Director Biography - Julia Ernesti

Julia Ernesti was born 1999 in Berlin in Germany. Since her childhood Julia attended the theatre school "Rampa" under the guidance of Alexander Urbanovich from Moscow. She was also a member of art, dance (under the leadership of Natalja Mokk), literature and ceramics courses at the Jewish Community in Berlin. 2015 she moved for one year to her father to New Delhi, India where she was attending to the German Embassy School. 2016 she moved back to Berlin and returned to the UNESCO School Max-Planck-Gymnasium, where she won awards for her work in Russian literature and artworks. She graduated in 2017 in German and Russian language and was nominated for her head student engagement as school president. In the same time she met the VOGUE Photographer Patrick Citera and started actively to engage with photography. After graduation Julia starts working as a Project Manager in the Cinema for Peace Foundation in the section for school Screenings and the Preparation for the Gala at the Berlinale. At the same time she starts actively working as an Actress. At the end of 2017, she is an intern in the photo and film department at the “Röhr und Wenzel” agency, where she is working with the team of journalists to collect video material for ARD in Berlin. In 2018, she begins her voluntary service in the UNESCO Commission's kulturweit program in cooperation with the Goethe Institute, where she take up a position at the PASCH school in Nis, Serbia. During this period Julia leads photo- and video- projects within the programme of the Goethe institute and the Zfa. In the same time she starts working as the senior manager at the hostel "El Diablo" where she will be until 2022.

2019 starts her studies in TV and Film Directing at the Academy of Arts (Akademija Umetnosti) in Belgrade. Julias Photo works and Editorials get published in Photo VOGUE Italy, Kurz, Art Airlines, GOJI, MARIKA, MOVEUX Paris and IPA Photo Awards.
During Corona she shoots her first documentary graduations films “HOME” (Autoportrait) and “BEAUTY”. 2021 she starts working as an PA, and Interpreter at the Hollywood Production by Legendary “The Machine” by Peter Atencio and the Co-production Balkanic Media by Jonathan English. In beginning of 2022 she appears in the Music Video by Ljubba and SENIDAH “BEHUTE” wich was nominated at BUEIFF. In early 2023, her first short feature film “Killing in a Vegan way” gets in the official selection of Genève Awards for 2023. In parallel, Julia worked with international crew from Germany, UK, Russia, US, Serbia, Croatia, Netherlands, Puerto Rico and Slovenia.
