An artist at her core, Keisha created Ultraviolet Warriors as an artistic outlet with a powerful purpose: to lift up and support warriors like herself fighting this invisible illness.

Keisha’s newest upcoming project, The Lupus Diaries: Wolves + Butterflies, is a mini docu-series that unpacks the complex realities of living with lupus, exposing the emotional journeys of not only lupus warriors themselves, but also their caregivers, loved ones, and friends advocating against the disease. Check back soon for more as we look to give a voice and visibility to those who have long felt isolated, marginalized, and misunderstood as a result of their struggle.

Ultraviolet light can make the unseen, seen. Its purple color speaks to the majesty, compassion, strength, and inspiration that represents the 1.5 million Americans (5 million people around the world) living as lupus warriors. While symptoms may not always present themselves to the rest of the world, it’s all the more important that we work to create opportunities that nurture a sense of belonging and community among those who may feel as if they’re struggling on their own.

Keisha’s involvement with the LFA (Lupus Foundation of America) is rooted in her relentless desire to make a visible difference with the hopes of inspiring others to do the same. Because in order to call yourself a warrior, you have to be willing to fight.
