Keep On Saving the World
If the superhero Valiant can save a city, he should be able to save date night… right?
It’s dinner. The broccoli? Steamed. The marry-me chicken? Marriage material. The conversation? Colder than the food’s about to get. Mia’s worried that Ryan is pushing himself too hard as a superhero – he was stabbed last Monday, for goodness’s sake – while Ryan worries that if he doesn’t get back out there soon, people will die. Both are right. Neither is happy about it.

We love it when superheroes have secret identities. It adds depth and drama, for sure – but just think about how many villains would run rampant if Peter Parker got sick. Has anyone died in the seconds it takes for Clark Kent to change into his Superman suit? That may sound dramatic, but if you have the ability to save anyone, are you suddenly responsible for everyone? Is a hero even allowed to be human if it puts lives on the line? Through this short film, I wanted to explore a character capable of lifting a building but struggling under the weight of his own morality.
