Karim Shohdy is an award winning actor/director & music composer located in Cairo, Egypt.
His passion for performing started at an early age. He is a graduate of the Artistic Creativity Centre in Cairo, under the supervision of Egyptian master director Khaled Galal.
He has studied multiple forms of performance, including improv, physical theater, acting for camera, musical theater among other forms. He also has experiences in Meyerhold Biomechanics, contemporary & modern dance, psychodrama among other fields and most recently film directing.
“A Ticket to Hell” marks debut as a film director, with intent of a crossover between theatre & film.
As a music composer he wrote music for multiple short films & theatre performances, including “The Visitor”, “Salem Nafsak”, “The Midnight Incident”, “We were together” & “The Trial” which premiered at the World Youth Forum in December.
He has won multiple awards as a performer and as a director and is currently working on multiple TV & film projects.
He worked in a close and intensive work frame with the Swiss “Compagnie INTERFACE” in preparation of the Egyptian version of the world acclaimed show, “Vive La Vie”.
He attended workshops with Russian/German master director Jurij Alschitz, Dr Olga Lapina and Italian director Danilo Cremonte.
