Karen Belfo is an Award-winning Canadian-European Writer & Director.
She is the Founder of Ofleb Productions (2006-2012) and a NYFA Graduate (2011).
As a Writer & Director, she is well known for her funky Vegan Talk Show, called, KB's Sofa & Guests (2021-2022), the Puppet TV Mini-Series, Eleanor's Fortress (2021), and her short experimental film, A Montreal Lullaby (2021), this film won the Best of Genre Award, under category, Best Experimental Short, at the Great Lakes Film Festival (2023). She is also known for her doc film, The Ofleb Calendar: Queens of Montreal (2023). An all woman Cast & Crew. Canadian Premiere (KB Vegan TV - March 2023), celebrated World International Women's Day.
Karen Belfo is a retired Celtic Jazz Singer/Songwriter (2008-2012). During those years, two amazing Music Videos were produced, City D'Amour (2010) and Deny's Outcry (2009). Deny's Outcry (2009), showcased on Much Music Toronto & screened at Montreal's Segal Center Theater. Deny's Outcry reached the Top 10 Canadian Jazz Charts, along side artists, such as Diana Krall. Reaching #1 for 3 weeks! City D'Amour (2010), screened online, (OnStage). City D'Amour, was mentioned in the 'I Heart My City' travel section, Nov 2011 edition of National Geographic. Back in 2009, Karen Belfo won an Award under Category, Performance of Excellence, at the MTL Music Talent Search Competition.
Karen Belfo is also a retired Playwright. Her magnificent plays include, Tapamenko Swing (2007) and I Wished for Alex (2006). These Plays were showcased at Montreal theaters, which included Quebec's, amazing & popular, Monument-National.
