Kalush Orchestra - Stefania
This film is based on true events during the military aggression in Ukraine in 2022.
The song Stefania was written by the Ukrainian group Kalush Orchestra. The band's frontman said: "I once dedicated this song to my mother, and when the war broke out, the song took on a lot of new meanings.
Although there is not a word about the war in the song, many people began to associate the song with mother Ukraine. Moreover, society began to call it the anthem of our war!
But if Stefania is now the anthem of our war, I would like it to become the anthem of our victory."
The horrible truth is that all of the sets in this video are not movie sets, there are no props - it’s a result of russian invasion. Destruction and death of innocent people is a reality we’ve been dealing with since February 24th.
The names of these small cities where we filmed our video are now known to the whole world - Bucha, Borodyanka, Irpyn’, Hostomel, Kyiv. Even though Kyiv and it’s suburbs have been liberated and are no longer in the immediate danger zone, it only means that the atrocities of the russian army and their inhumane conduct is now concentrated on the eastern and southern parts of Ukraine. And now we know about Mariupol - where latest death toll indicated more than 25,000 deceased.
The video does not call for aggression, but demonstrates the humanity and resilience of our protectors in these darkest times.
In our music video we want to remind: Dear World, Ukraine need your support. Thank you!
