Sakura in New England 新英格蘭櫻花

A subjective study of vintage sakura cherry blossom trees in New England during the 2020-2021 pandemic by Kandice Kathleen Zimbleman. 新英格蘭櫻花 by 任思麒.

The location of these vintage trees is at the former WWII/Cold War Naval Airbase "South Field" now known as "Union Point" where Air Ships once flew. These trees are vintage from the 1970s-1990s. Most of the original trees died, and these are the last ones left.

This project required several days of shooting in Mid April 2021 during the Pandemic. Kandice had to walk a few miles from her home and carry her equipment on foot with a bad back/spine and suffered from pain & exhaustion due to the dedicated work to get the perfect photos. The lens she used (SIGMA 135mm F1.8) was a gift from her brother.
