Writer/Director Patrick Lindsay first filmed at Kokoda in 1983 and first walked the Track in 1992. He has written three books on the campaign and produced, written and directed two previous network TV documentaries on the campaign: Kokoda … The Bloody Track in 1992; and Kokoda … The Last Parade in 1998.
He has interviewed more than a 100 campaign veterans in Australia, PNG and Japan.
Lindsay spent more than 25 years in network TV as a reporter, producer, writer and presenter, on the Nine and Seven networks and Sky News. Since 2002 he has been one of Australia’s leading non-fiction authors, having written 20 best-selling books.
Poignant individual stories illustrate the sacrifice, courage and endurance of the Diggers and confirm Kokoda's vital importance as part of our national heritage.
For years we have struggled to illustrate the extraordinary beauty and ruggedness of the terrain over which the Kokoda campaign was fought in PNG.
DOP Paul Croll’s brilliant HD drone footage allows us to portray the terrain with a hitherto unachievable accuracy.
