József in Autumn
Logline: A love for gardening won't stop the seasons from changing.
Synopsis: For József, Kazincbarcika is the centre of the world. Despite his old age, József is determined to find the city’s natural beauty, hidden between the cold, industrial post-Soviet architecture. With one goal in mind, he hopes to encourage others to fall in love with nature again, fearing that his passion for the green grass of home will slowly fade away with him.

Cecilia Belén Sandoval: Cecilia Belén Sandoval is an Image and Sound Designer from Argentina, graduated from the University of Buenos Aires. She is currently studying at DocNomads Masters programme. Her work is focused on the documentary area and experimental film, where she works as a director, DoP and camera operator.
Erin Macpherson: Erin Macpherson is an award-winning docu-fiction filmmaker from South Africa with a Masters in Documentary Film Directing from Doc Nomads. Their work has featured internationally, screening at festivals such as DIFF, OutFest, DocLisboa, Tampere, and so forth, as well as winning a SAFTA for their short film, "The Water Dancers", and a Golden Eagle Best Director Award for "I Did Not Wake Up Dead Today".
Believing that cinema is the universal language of empathy, their work bends the boundary between documentary and fiction, creating art that centres its narratives on socio-political issues that both divide and connect us. Their films explore themes of grief through a disarmingly humorous lens in an effort to show the complexities of the lived human experience.
Judit Sára Elek: Judit Sára Elek will graduate in filmmaking master’s at Eötvös Lóránd University, Hungary and in documentary film directing master’s at Academy Of Performing Arts, Slovakia. Her first short documentary won several prizes. She works as assistant director in short fiction films, and in documentaries.
Lesia Diak: Lesia Diak, a Ukrainian documentary film director, has been studying Documentary Film Directing through the international masters program DocNomads since 2021. She is also finishing a feature length documentary called Dad’s Lullaby about the family life of an army veteran traumatized by the Russian-Ukrainian war that began in 2014.
