Director Biography - Máté Szombath

I always loved to crafting things, most of the time almost from nothing. My father's VHS collection, my studies on fine arts and the fandom of my entire life to music with all its visuals, all lead me to what I do today. Making music videos since 2010.
I made one indie movie (Blackbird) after some short films, which premiered in 2015. This was the foundation of our directors collective: Cineast.

Director Statement

I felt like this track asked for a video that conveys a greater global meaning and in order to tell that story, I wanted to create a spacey atmosphere shooting slow motion with anamorphic lenses. The lyrics are about the growing eco-anxiety in the world, which I can relate to more and more every day. I wanted to portray some everyday human moments of different peoples with different lives in separate sequences, that come together in the end to become one, when faced with something bigger than themselves.
