Joel Chaou Latorre has a degree in Advertising and Public Relations from the Universitat Jaume I in Castellón and a master's degree in Journalism and Digital Communication from the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya.
He lives and works in Madrid, but his birthplace is Las Cuevas de Utiel, a small village in the interior of Valencia with no more than half a thousand inhabitants. His Master's thesis "Desmantelando la Línea" (Dismantling the Line) tells the social and economic perspective that it means for his village to be left without a historic public service such as the railway, which has helped to transform and structure the Spanish territory for decades
