'Jakarsa: The Dream is on Jakarta' is a love letter for my past, present and future selves; Stories of how the twists and turns in having dreams, reaching dreams, to determining where to go at every crossroads.
Jakarta is not where I was born or live. I live in another city which is located on the outskirts of Jakarta but the city living of where I live revolves around Jakarta. Since I was little, every morning I saw hundreds of cars leaving for Jakarta to work, even at night, hundreds of these cars returned to their respective homes that were not in Jakarta. Gradually when I turned 20 I began to realize that my dream, or maybe 'our' dream was centered on Jakarta. Everything is in Jakarta, that's why everyone goes to Jakarta. My dream was born and formed over the city and back to the city. Therefore, dream and city have a close relationship. The city shapes us to have a dream, while at the same time giving us a choice of the dreams we have.
