Jack Tomlinson (Long Island, NY) is an American actor, writer, director and professional wrestler. Tomlinson earned his B.S. in physical and health education from Long Island University. He has over two dozen film credits including "Good Enough," "Stranger Song" and "The Ex-Change." In 2023, Tomlinson founded his production company, Bailey's Pack, and has since written, directed, produced and starred in four films, including the award winning, "Rest In Memories." He can also be seen wrestling under the gimmick, 'The Leading Man,' where he has performed for the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) and All Elite Wrestling (AEW).
You’d be hard pressed to find someone who loves movies, professional wrestling and Tom Cruise as passionately as I do. Around 2023, I started to struggle in the world of professional wrestling, my character was no longer connecting with myself or the audience and my performances began to suffer. My escape from this feeling of embarrassment was the Mission: Impossible franchise. I imagined how incredible it would be to have Tom’s passion, bravery and talent. Then, it hit me, what if I did or at least, I thought I did.
‘Jack Tomlinson: The Leading Man,’ is the origin story about how a counted out and hated pro wrestler, leaned into his delusions and ran his way into the role of a lifetime. Now, cast as The Leading Man of Professional Wrestling, he not only cuts great promos and wrestles fantastic matches but he acts, sings, dances and does his own stunts!
In the world of professional wrestling it often feels like everything good has already been done. Which is easy to believe because between WWE, TNA, AEW and the Independent scene there are so many athletic and charismatic individuals. I had to ask myself, what are they all missing? Quickly I realized that what was missing was cinema. Of course, there have been many fantastic wrestlers turned actors who are now making movies, but none of them were ever making movies about their character in professional wrestling.
The Leading Man is part one of what will be a five part short film series, which will ultimately be edited into one long feature film to truly cinematize the tales of The Leading Man.
