Rachael Quinn is a director, writer, producer, and actor from Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Rachael graduated from Franklin & Marshall College with a B.A. in Film & Media Studies, a minor in Theatre, and a focus on Creative Writing. Throughout her years as a student, she won awards nationally and regionally for her writing and filmmaking, specifically her directorial work. While at Franklin & Marshall College, Rachael directed two musicals with $10K+ budgets and was later invited back to direct a senior thesis performance of "The Last Five Years" as an alum.
During her senior year, she was recruited by an east coast production company, where she learned a broad range of skills from pre-production through post-production under an industry veteran. In the summer of 2017, Rachael moved to Los Angeles, California, to continue her work in film. In 2020, she co-founded Moonwake, a production company dedicated to telling unique stories, providing fresh perspectives, and giving platforms to underrepresented people, topics, and communities.
What stood out to me most about Jack Switch's song, Ghost, was the poetic way he merged youthful innocence with the darkness of adulthood and its effects on mental health. In an effort to explore those same elements cinematically, we decided to take the fun, light-hearted nature of children's media, like Scooby Doo and Luigi's Mansion, and add a darker twist by nodding to classic horror tropes of the 1950s up through Creature Feature era content, like Michael Jackson's "Thriller."
In the film, Jack Switch finds himself lost in the woods with his friends as they are hunted by a ghostly version of himself. Despite his best efforts to protect them against his alter ego, the teens are systematically hunted down and overtaken until only Jack remains. As he comes to terms with how the actions of his ghostly self have impacted the ones he loves, he realizes there's no escaping the monsters he inadvertently created.
