Jayson Warner Smith is an award winning actor and filmmaker, he has had the distinct honor of being on screen in the 2016 Sundance Film Festival film “The Birth of A Nation” (audience and grand jury prize winner) along with Sundance darling “Christine.” Also in 2015, Jayson acted in “99 Homes" starring Michael Shannon and "Mississippi Grind" starring Ben Mendelsohn. As an Atlanta native, he’s best known for his recurring roles of Wendall Jelks on SundanceTV’s "Rectify" and Gavin on AMC’s "The Walking Dead.” In 2022, Jayson shifted into producing and acting in his own projects, with the short film "Chipper" which will be premiering in early 2023.
