Best Narrative Short Screenplay
Born in the Deep South, Jaya spent her youth mostly in the pages of a book. She began writing early without prompt because it was just a natural expression for her. Though she always had a love of music and attended a Fine Arts high school for the same, it was only many years after that she discovered her real talent was for writing. Probably she overlooked it because it had always been there and it had always been a part of her life. So, she never gave it much thought as a serious talent. It wasn’t until many years later she began taking the craft of writing more seriously.
I write mostly when I am wrestling with something. The writing is a way for me to resolve those arguments. Sometimes I get to an answer. Other times I don’t. Regardless, I always find an irresistible peace and beauty in writing. I offer it to others that they may find the same.
