Jaci
"Jaci" portrays the arrival of the Portuguese in Brazil and its impact on the local indigenous tribes, focusing on the natives' perspective. The story is set in the early 16th century and follows Jaci, a young Tupinambá warrior.
The film begins by showing the harmonious life of the Tupinambá in their village in the Atlantic Forest. Jaci is a skilled hunter and is about to marry Naiá. The peace is interrupted when the tribe's shaman has a prophetic vision about the arrival of "men with skin the color of clouds."
Conflicts with the rival Tupiniquim tribe escalate, and Jaci leads an expedition to investigate. During the journey, they discover that the Tupiniquim have allied themselves with strange pale men (Portuguese) with powerful weapons.
The Tupinambá village is attacked, resulting in many deaths and captures, including Naiá. Jaci escapes and embarks on a mission to rescue his people. He encounters other tribes and witnesses the growing impact of Portuguese colonization.
The film culminates with Jaci confronting Rodrigo, a Portuguese man who has captured Naiá. The narrative explores themes of indigenous resistance, culture clash, and the devastating consequences of European colonization in the Americas.

I am a Brazilian screenwriter currently based in Lisbon. With a background in Literature from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ), I explore cinematic storytelling with a strong foundation in narrative and language. My scripts blend humor and drama to engage with social themes and contemporary issues.
Many of the stories I work on revolve around characters experiencing cultural shifts and personal transformations, often drawing from diverse perspectives and real-life observations. From mockumentaries to intense dramas, the focus is on creating authentic dialogue and dynamic storytelling.
Inspired by travel and cultural exchanges, my approach aims to connect with universal themes while maintaining a distinctly Brazilian perspective. The goal is to craft narratives that balance social critique with engaging character development.
