Jaan's Day
After being released from a psychiatric clinic, Jaan isn’t thinking of changing his lifestyle. His creativity as a musician has been replaced by drug use. Besides, his best friend Tarmo, who’s also an addict, is homeless. Jaan allows him to spend the night in his music studio, but this leads to a problem—Tarmo has an unpaid debt to a local pusher.

Freddy Lond is an Estonian writer/director who moved to Belgium in his teens. This change had an impact on his creativity. It contributed to the cultural duality that can be seen in his work. Character driven stories are his strength. He completed a bachelor’s degree in Audiovisual Technology from the LUCA School of Arts and studied Film Studies & Visual Culture at the University of Antwerp.
Jaan's Day is about a musician who's psyche is breaking after being released from the ward. It's loosely based on the life of my father. When I was writing the screenplay for that short film, I made use of Hemingway's "Iceberg Theory"— there's always more hidden beneath the surface.
