J. S. BACH - An Endless Journey - Prelude
The film presents the author's "endless journey" for the perfect interpretation of Johann Sebastian Bach’s work (1685 - 1750). Bach composed six Suites for solo violoncello. The Prelude of the first Suite is presented in the film with a transcription made by the author for double bass. The film also presents the history and exhibits the important Brazilian historical and cultural heritage that is the Nossa Senhora das Dores Church, narrates about the search for the creation of gut strings, which were used in Bach's time, explains what a suite is, its parts, and the purpose of the Prelude inside a suite.

Alexandre has been developing artistic, pedagogical and research work since 2000 at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul - UFRGS (Porto Alegre/RS-BRAZIL). He received both Doctor (DMA) and Bachelor (BMA) degrees in Double Bass Performance from The University of Georgia - UGA (USA). His musical and academic background also includes a year in the master's program in Double Bass Performance at the University of British Columbia (Canada).
Alexandre received scholarships for programs such as for the Academia Musicale Chiggiana in Siena/Italy where he received Diploma di Mérito, for the Campus Internazionale di Musica in Sermoneta in Italy, for the Banff Orchestral Program and for the Toronto Summer Music Academy in Canada, as well as for the North Caroline School for the Arts in the USA.
Alexandre has also a diverse career as a producer of different music festivals, such as Encontro Internacional de Contrabaixistas-MRM and CORDAS-POA-Festival de Cordas de Porto Alegre.
In addition, Alexandre has been involved in producing different music videos clips, such as Capenga and Trovajoli (titles available on his youtube channel). But in J. S. BACH - An Endless Journey - Prelude, is his first time as a producer, writer and director of a full film.
All his work and art has led him to play, produce and present lectures in countries like Germany, Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Costa Rica, France, Holland, Italy and the USA.
