Experiencing Interruptions?

JED-19

JED-19 is an AI-driven documentary inspired by the book I Remember That…, published by the Saudi Ministry of Health. The film transforms the book’s collective memories into living images using artificial intelligence to reconstruct moments, emotions, and spaces that defined the pandemic era.

Through the perspective of a frontline doctor, the film moves between silence and urgency: empty streets, closed mosques, hospital corridors, emergency decisions, and unseen acts of care. By animating memory with AI, JED-19 bridges documentation and storytelling, turning text into experience. The result is not just a record of crisis, but a reflection on preparedness, faith, technology, and how a city learned to protect itself and lead.

I discovered the book in 2024 and the idea was immediate.
This film is an experiment pushing generative AI to apply cinematic language, light, and mood. The process came with challenges and mistakes shaped by the AI itself, which became part of the journey. JED-19 is a test, and a step toward a future feature-length film expanding the story beyond Jeddah.
