Tripod Motion Pictures Pvt. Ltd. is a creative platform conceived by Sanjeev Sivan and his wife Deepti Pillay Sivan– to explore and expound yet uncharted territories in the domain of audio-visuals – both digital and film. With a determined agenda of delivering unique content in seamless quality, the organisation brings with it the assurance of over 50 years of collated experience of excellence, in all forms of audio-visual storytelling. Most of the projects, undertaken by the couple were under the banners of Sanjeev Sivan Entertainment and Sivans Studio before the merger with Tripod Motion Pictures Pvt. Ltd.
Sanjeev Sivan has filmmaking in his blood, quite literally. Youngest of the family of filmmakers- with three generations contributing to the Indian Film Industry which includes his father (Late) Sivan, an acclaimed Director/Cinematographer and elder brothers Sangeet Sivan an acclaimed Director and (Padmashree) Santosh Sivan an acclaimed Director/Cinematographer, (being the first South Asian to be inducted into American Society of Cinematographers & conferred with Pierre Angenienx Award at Cannes International Film Festival); it was quite natural for him to immerse into the world of films, from a very tender age. He further enhanced it with his film-making degree from the New York University, and through working from the age of 16 with his father and brothers in multiple popular, award-winning, internationally acclaimed feature films, documentaries and other projects.
Sanjeev Sivan is adept in scripted and unscripted projects, and everything in between. Besides his ongoing multi-national Hindi feature film with Nawazuddin Siddiqui as the lead actor, his feature films as director include ‘Endless Summer’ (Malayalam) with Seema Biswas; which won the Best Film at the Calgary International Film Festival, ‘Aparichithan’ with megastar Mammotty etc.
His documentaries like ‘Dharavi’ (MediaCorp), Achtung Baby, Underground Inferno (National Geographic), Karaoke Cops (Al Jazeera), to name a few are internationally renowned having won international accolades.
Sanjeev Sivan has served as a Jury member for several International and Domestic Film Festivals and also National Film Awards, India. He is a recipient of the Prestigious Karmveer Puraskar.
Deepti Pillay Sivan comes from an Army family, with an innate creative bent of mind. A well established entertainment executive, she has developed proficiency in all fields within the domain of media and entertainment – including events, film, television and radio. Deepti started her career as an Actor in Malayalam films – featuring stellar stars like Mohanlal, Thilakan etc.
A law graduate, and an MBA in Entrepreneurship, she improved her skills by doing various certificate courses from foreign universities like North Western University, USA, Case Western Reserve University, USA and also XLRI, Jamshedpur.
After her marriage with Sanjeev Sivan, Deepti engaged herself with the Production aspects of Sivan Studios, Sanjeev Sivan Entertainment and Tripod Motion Pictures; exploring newer ways to execute innovative ideas. During this phase, Deepti took up a variety of roles as Director, Producer, Production Designer, Commissioning Head, Curator etc. She also made an impact in the Corporate world in her role of Regional Director of Red FM-Radio Station and Business Head/Commissioning Head of South-India’s largest Television Channels- Sun TV and of India’s largest Television Channels- Zee TV.
“Decoding Shankar” - a documentary directed by Deepti Pillay Sivan, on the recent Grammy Award winner, eminent musician Shankar Mahadevan, created huge waves across the planet. This film alone garnered 25 International awards at Toronto, Tokyo, Japan, London, Hong Kong, Paris etc. besides being featured in the “Indian Panorama” at the International Film Festival of India, Goa and various International Film Festivals across the globe. She is dubbed as the only Indian Female Film Director to win 25 International awards for a film.
The recent works under this banner are documentary “Gods Own Kingdom” which is on the world’s richest temple the Padmanabha Swamy temple, the latest viral trending anthem on the Indian Navy “Call of the Blue Waters” which was unveiled by the President of India on the Navy Day, Feature Film “Ozhuki, Ozhuki, Ozhuki” which is doing the rounds of the festivals across the globe creating impact etc. Their latest work is “Achappa’s Album” a feature film in Malayalam for NFDC India and “Jalkanya” a documentary for the Indian Navy to be unveiled by the President of India on the Navy Day December 5th 2025.
The team has to their credit 32 state, national and international awards collectively and their films have represented at 52 International Film Festivals including Tokyo, Fukuoka, Jecheon, Hong Kong, Toronto, Seattle, Cannes, London, to name a few.
