It's N0t My birthday focuses on themes surrounding mental health and feeling alone and how that can overcome people's outlooks o society and themselves. The premise is it's not the characters birthday but they crave the feeling of appreciation, attentiveness, and amity that birthday parties and social outings have to offer. The desire to have companionship that leads to consuming one's self and ultimately takes over.

Director Statement

I'm a 18 year old Black Women Filmmaker studying film and television as an undergrad at The School of the Arts Institute of Chicago. My filmmaking consists of documentaries, experimental, narrative, music videos , etc. My main goal is to represent the under-represented. I make stories to be told and heard throughout the world. Making our surrealist world as black people, people of color, and all the feel othered into a permeant reality.
