Invitation to a dance

Grandfather Arturo, Cacique of the Muinane community of Caño Negro, has invited me to a dance. The Muinane songs are heard from the Amazon jungle and grandfather begins to narrate the creation myth of Amoka, the triumphal dance. As I accompany the members of the grandfather's family in their daily activities, the echoes of the songs resound in the chorro de Araracuara, ancestral territory of the Muinane. The constant flow of the river, the sounds of the jungle and its animals envelop the atmosphere in another time, which arrives like the blow of the coca pylon that accompanies the song and dance of the dancers of yesterday and today until dawn.
