Invisible
In an enigmatic world where everything falls apart, an elderly man comes face to face with himself and becomes separated from his reality. As time passes, his surroundings seem to fade and disintegrate into specks of dust. Alone, playfully guided by his conscience, he wanders in the depths of his inner self.
At the end of it all, what remains? Dust, a glimmer of light, and the laughter of an invisible man.

A graduate of the National Theatre School of Canada’s production program, Michel Lemieux never ceases to amaze with the originality and scope of his creative output. In 1984, his multidisciplinary solo show, Solide Salad, marked the national scene and was performed for three years on four continents. Since then, this artist, designer, scenographer, director, composer, performer and director has always been at the forefront of the digital arts. In 1990, he founded, with Victor Pilon, 4D Art from which singular shows in which new technologies intensify the audience’s sensory and emotional experience were created. Their notable performances include Dreamscapes, Icarus, The Beauty and the Beast, The Tempest and NORMAN. Lemieux also co-signed immersive experiences such as Continuum and Cirque du Soleil shows (TORUK and DELIRIUM) which toured in hundreds of cities worldwide. Lemieux co-created and directed Cité Mémoire, the largest urban itinerary of digital projections deployed throughout Montreal.
Lemieux also created The Disappearance of Lady Macbeth, a digital work which opens the Thierry Mugler: Couturissime exhibition in fine art museums in Montreal, Rotterdam, Munich, Paris and heading to New York in 2022. In recent years, he directed VR and AR experiences including UNTOUCHED and ICARUS VR, an artistic VR presented at the Cannes XR Festival and in many other international festivals and arts centers.
The actor featured in this film is Victor Pilon's father (Pilon is co-artistic director of 4D Art). What started as a simple documentation of his pastimes and activities during the pandemic took on a different meaning after we filmed him playing solitaire (called "patience" in his native French) an endless number of times. What was he being patient for? What is he waiting for? Of course, one can assume that he's calmly waiting for the end. But as he is waiting, is he disappearing before our very eyes or is he transforming into something different?
