For His Eyes Only

For His Eyes Only tells the story of psychopathic murderer Eddie Kovacs who poses as a photographer to access and then brutally kill young women. Late one night he meets a strange girl, Angela Ashley, who invites him to her house for a "photoshoot" the following night.

Upon arriving, Eddie discovers that things are not what they seem and as the situation grows ever more bizarre, he realises that this time, the hunter may have become the hunted.

Director Biography - Tom O' Brien

I am a recently graduated student of Ballyfermot College of Further Education in Dublin, Ireland. I spent four years there studying filmmaking, making shorts and building up my network. My overall career ambition is to become a writer-director, but I am also interested in all aspects of the filmmaking process. I'm a firm believer in the idea that passion, hard work and having the right people around you is invaluable to any young filmmaker and this philosophy has served me well on all of my projects both past and present.

My approach to filmmaking is that it comes down to two basic principles - collaboration and communication. You can't have one without the other, and if you have neither then your production will surely descend into chaos. My main working method on set is always to be as open-minded and approachable as possible when dealing with actors or crew. Both deserve the same amounts of respect for their craft and attention - without them you wouldn't be making your movie in the first place! Talent and dedication is rewarded by acknowledging it.

I love all genres of cinema but if I had to pick favourites, I would choose horror, drama, thriller and arthouse films. I particularly love films that can be both entertaining and thought-provoking. I want my own work to have this same edge; to create films that will satisfy the audience, but also cause them to leave the cinema with something to ponder. I think it's always important to try and reflect your own views of the world in your work since that's what makes your voice unique and stand out from others.

At present I am currently developing three screenplays with various colleagues of mine, some of which I plan on shooting over the coming year. Outside of my writing and directing abilities, I also enjoy using my artistic skills to function as a freelance concept and storyboard artist.

Director Statement

For His Eyes Only is my most ambitious project to date in terms of its scope and complexity. Making the film was an uphill battle at times, befraught with stress and pressure, but looking back on it now, it's a battle I will be forever glad to have fought.

My goal with this particular film was to remind audiences of two things - that nobody ever knows what goes on behind closed doors, and that somebody they may interact with every day could perhaps be the person on the other side.

So in essence, its a film about the people all around you. Just watch them closely and if you ever happen to see something out of the ordinary...

...it's for your eyes only.
