Intimate In A Sea of Faces
In this inspired short art film we see the dancers weave in and out and around Mitoraj's romanesque and ancient Greek referenced large-scale faces installation work, that speak of the human condition in dramatic form, in various states of perfection and distress.
Utopian-dystopian. This is the starkly elegant minimalist contemporary setting of the museum for contemporary art, all tied together thanks to the artistic imagery and animated black and white recording, having something of a 1930's look in essence.

Maaike Elise Stofferis is a young female creative film director. Her films are based on the movement and beauty of the female form in the space. She has a great passion for collaborative international projects in cinematography, art, fashion, and music.
She studied theatre and costume design at Central Saint Martins (London) and is the driving force behind her own Haute Couture brand Maison M'Elise.
"When I start thinking of new designs for my bridal gowns or evening wear. I always see a film in front of me, I see the female body in movement, and I observe how the light falls and how the woman breaths in her gown, this is my source of inspiration and the start of the creation process for me.
The films are always a final synopsis of my work I really believe in the collaborative space where I leave room for the unexpected.
Conceptualist and Creative Director Maaike Elise Stofferis explains that behind her work she aims to speak of certain integrity, reverence, and respect for a rich heritage, the best of the past drawing on an aesthetic of classic beauty, but also a certain beauty from within. Homage to the highest aspirations in life and what it is to be human in weakness and strength.
Striving for perfection but acknowledging our scars too as we teeter between success and failure. In her films, she creates triumphant international collaborative performances, (drawn from her theater background) where we come away with the feeling that humanity can overcome any and all obstacles.
It is a celebration of integrity. A reminder of our power. Power to love, move and elevate, with the human spirit rising above the pain of the mundane, despite everything. And in these fraught and testing times, it is a most welcome breath of fresh air that also feeds the soul in some elevated form.
