Au Milieu (nel mezzo)
This short film claims to analyze something that is "in the middle". The idea stems precisely from the use of the French word "au milieu", the cornerstone of the thought of the French philosopher Gilles Deleuze - of which it is also the voice that accompanies the viewer for much of the vision. The short film, made as an ethereal dream scene, does not have a beginning or an end, but places its firmament in something that - as mentioned above - is located in the middle, like what happens when we dream: as awake it is often difficult for us to remember a true beginning and an end of the dreamlike vision we have had. The only simulacra of a narrative in this video, we could say, are the moment when the subject falls asleep - characterized by a musical detachment and black and white sequences - and the close-up of a look that runs throughout the movie to symbolize the state of the dream in which the sleeper resides. The track used is a mix called "Rizomi Sonori - resonanze con la filosofia di Deleuze e Guattari" by Annachiara Fasoli, musical research of sounds that are located in a "milieu" of a flow, too.
