Best Director
Sohaila’s directing style can be described as dynamic and bold. She is always keen to try new things and push the boundaries and limits of film-making. She has a clear and honest vision for each project she takes on and delivers on quality every time. As a natural born leader she is highly skilled at controlling a set and managing cast and crew. She operates fast paced on and off set, working fluidly and without hesitations and delay. Sohaila is a natural creative with a daring vision for film and a free flowing desire to create beautiful films, always. She is known for the films ‘Bluebell’, 'Interviewing Lance Masterson' and ' Deterioration of Man', three shorts she has written, directed and produced.
Originally I had written this as a 5 min film for the Little Cinema Galway 48 hour film challenge. After winning best cinematography, the team and I wanted to expand on it and bring it to the international film festival circuit.
So I rewrote it and made it longer.
This is a zero budget film, made with the help and support of my friends who just so happen to be very talented in their fields. Collectively we have made something very special. I am very proud of Lance Masterson.
