Inner Rhythm

"Inner Rhythm" delves into the world of oriental dance, shedding light on an often misunderstood art form shaped by stereotypes and clichés.

The film follows Tamara, an internationally renowned oriental dancer and member of the UNESCO Dance Council. While carefully applying her makeup and choosing her costume, she reflects on her 16-year career, the challenges of the industry, and the cultural misconceptions surrounding belly dance.

Through personal insights, critical reflections, and live dance sequences accompanied by musicians, the film challenges common prejudices and showcases the complexity of belly dance – from its erotic structure to its significance as a serious performing art.
