Semifinalist: Screenplay Competition
Gidlow began work on "Inimicus" nearly a decade ago and led his production company to shoot a concept film in October of 2022. Thomas also has several other projects on his slate and has helped with small investments in regional independent projects under the Skyphire Entertainment banner.
The film most influential for Gidlow's overall love of cinema is "Leon: The Professional". His other favorites and influences in the film and TV world include "The Dark Knight Rises", "Contact", "Star Trek", "Law and Order", and "The Fugitive".
Gidlow lives with his amazing wife Samantha and their 'human' cat Stormy in Cary, NC.
This short film touches on topics that are known but still stigmatized (PTSD, depression, and soldier reintegration). Though rapid advances in technology and techniques have helped, many still struggle with the day-to-day battle against these formidable enemies.
We have integrated these topics into a raw, but realistic narrative that is true to the plight of those who suffer on a daily basis - including the loved ones around them. We often overlook the spouses, friends, and others impacted by the journey these brave men and women face.
"Inimicus" is a tough look at a real problem through the lens of a fictional story. We feel the powerful imagery, story, and characters can greatly impact all audiences and inspire them to act - before it's too late.
