Since my freshman year of high school, I wanted to create my version of the American coming of age drama. I spent four years developing a treatment that included plot points, character descriptions, photographs, and audio recordings. My senior thesis project, Infinite Youth, is the result of exhaustive contemplation and self-reflection. The short narrative drama represents the lessons I learned and the friendships I made while in high school. It is a dreamy and disquieting evocation of American youth that provides an intimate glimpse into their daily lives, focusing on those quiet, reflective moments that reveal the triumphs and tragedies surrounding adolescence. Crafting a meditative and ethereal blend of documentary and narrative led me to discover inner peace while gaining a deeper understanding of the exciting but confusing time that is high school. It is my hope that audiences will connect with the characters and their stories as they slip from image to image, pulled along by their beauty.
