InVisible
Justice Butler enrolls at Houston Community College homeless. Her story is discovered by Jimmieka Mills, Editor-in-Chief of the college’s newspaper, and shared locally and then nationally. Justtice tries to figure ways to stop this homeless epidemic that has spread nationwide in colleges and universities. After arriving back to her film class her instructor suggests the class film and interview her about #RealCollege and her homeless story. She was so impressed with her classmate Ryan Nitsch’s camera work she suggested they continue filming her homeless journey as a documentary. The story would grow from her own to the stories of other homeless students as she teams up with stars, Jimmieka Mills and classmate, Moses Belton, Sr.. InVisible brings awareness to the homeless student epidemic and what schools, colleges, universities and individuals are doing to combat this issue. The stories of these students’ struggles and feelings of being invisible, features advocates like Sara Goldrick-Rab, educator, author, and founder of Hope Center for College, Community, and Justice; which researches how to help homeless and low-income students, as well as, fighting for free education. This class project turned documentary will opens viewer’s eyes by documenting the journey of these homeless students from different walks of life and how they won their lives back from feeling Invisible to becoming a part of the voices for homeless students.

Justice Butler enrolled as a homeless student at Houston Community College she works with the homeless by helping people become more aware of the homeless in various cities, including her own city, Houston. She will be receiving her Associates Degree in May 2019 with honors and a 3.5 G.P.A. After graduation Justice plans to continue her InVisible documentary trilogy, which will cover all capacities of homelessness, including how it all started. Justice considers herself more than a Student, Activist, and Music Poet. Under th acronym D.O.A.P. (Diary of a POET) she feels she's a messenger through her music poetry and since her style is different she is becoming a big attraction on her highly followed social networks.. She is a Communication in Media Arts major with an emphasis in Filmmaking who goals are to have her own entertainment company, start a non-profit organization for the homeless, and become a Congresswoman. While her gofundme is set up by others to help her struggles she still wishes to help others, also.

"Through my documentary trilogy of "InVisible" I wish to bring more awareness to the homeless issue, how it's affecting our schools for education, and bring information and content dealing with this issue that was hidden from the light. In the end I hope people can see homeless people different. We are no different. We just fell off the cliff and need to be picked up, dusted off, and guided on our way again and we can continue our path to greatness. That's it."
