Taiwo is currently the creative director at Contentdocks and also founder/Editor in Chief of African filmmaking resource platform, filmkaku.com
A self taught filmmaker, Taiwo Egunjobi started his journey at the University of Ibadan when he wrote and produced a short film titled " Blades of Ennui " (2013)
He graduated with a psychology degree and has continued writing and making films and television content.
He has since written feature films like Femi Odugbemi's "Gidi Blues" and Tunde Kelani's "Sidi Ilujinle"
His experimental short films "Musomania" and "Don't be a Nollywood Stereotype" have been selected to film festivals. (Zuma International Film Festival, In short Film Festival)
"In Ibadan" is his feature debut as a director.
In Ibadan was written as a personal note about me and my friends, living in the ancient city, but juggling relationships and career opportunities in Lagos. As an ode to Ibadan, I decidedly constructed this picture with deep and slow contemplation, thus, representative of the real divide between the two cities, but also attempting to capture the ennui of broken hearts and dreams.
As my first feature film, made with help from my closest friends with no budget.
I hope it succeeds in exposing the diversity of talents of an underground community of cinephiles and independent filmmakers from Ibadan, Nigeria.
