Katrina produced the Academy Accredited animations “Nullarbor” (2011) also AACTA Award winner, and “The Gallant Captain” (2013) which she co-developed and directed with Graeme Base. She was a Tropfest finalist director (“The Referees” 2003) and wrote the winning screenplay for the Australian Series II of Project Greenlight (“No Mail” 2006).
In Her Silence is an intimate, meditative reflection on what it feels like to be an ageing, yet still creative artist. Projection, time and introspection intertwine as the artist surrounds herself with her work, silently scanning thoughts of her life and coming to terms with the shortness of it. She is confronted by all she’s read, created, loved, thought or felt. Her own art washes over her - dancing, all-seeing icons drawn from her own artistic fascination; geishas, repetition, pattern and distortion.
