James Beaman is an award winning actor and master theatre teacher. His feature screenplay, "The Girl in Green," tells the true story of the infamous Helen Jewett Murder in 1830s New York. He has also written a short inspired by the same story, entitled "In Helen's Room." His latest short film script, "T," explores the shadow world of chemsex and the experience of an older gay man becoming hooked on crystal meth and sex, and is the 3rd Place Winner in the 2018 Big Apple Film Festival Short Screenplay Competition.
"In Helen's Room" is a short screenplay inspired by the infamous Helen Jewett murder in 1830's New York. Set almost entirely in Helen's brothel bedroom, it explores the intimate and obsessive relationship between a prostitute and her sociopathic lover.
