Tuhin Basu is a storyteller of South Asian descent, passionate about narratives that are personal but also rooted in generational and cultural traumas. His feature screenplay Scorched was a Finalist at WeScreenplay Diverse Voices Lab 2023 and Second Rounder at Austin Film Festival 2022, and currently stands shortlisted in the top 64 from a pool of 1300 entries at the Indian Screenwriters Association's Script Lab and Pitchfest 2024. Tuhin has also written and directed short films that went onto screen at various film festivals across the globe, including the New York Indian Film Festival, International Film Festival of South Asia Toronto, KASHISH Mumbai International Queer Film Festival, and Jio MAMI Mumbai Film Festival to name a few. Tuhin has also worked in the Hindi film industry in Mumbai, India in various roles in the writing and direction teams for films, web series and ad films. Tuhin studied film directing at Whistling Woods International, India and screenwriting at UCLA School of Theatre, Film and Television.
