I'm On Fire

I’m on Fire is a student short experimental-narrative film about the paradigm shift between how romance is presented in movies versus what happens in real life. This film follows Jodie, a young woman with a skewed view of relationships due to the heavy influence of romance movies in her life. Director Biography - Rose Trimboli

I am an L.A. based filmmaker that has been studying, writing and making films since the age of 6. I grew up watching all sorts of film, but mostly Italian Neorealism, French New Wave, and 70s, 80s, and 90s cult classics. I studied Film and Video Production at Drexel University where I got my start in production design, set dressing and costume design. Throughout my four years I have worked in sound, editing, camera, gaffing departments and production departments. During my Co-Op program I worked for Passion Pictures where I learned how to produce for documentaries, assistant edit, and do archival research for story development. While working for Passion Pictures I was able to prove my strengths in being a great assistant but also proving to me that my goal is to write and direct my own stories that could reach out and be applied to many different people’s lives.

Director Statement

I have a focus on fictional films with experimental elements or experimental films which is shown in the current project I am working on. It started out as a senior thesis but I decided to put more time and energy into it to get into festivals and see how far this film could take me.I’m On Fire is a short experimental film based on personal experiences that have shaped my life. I use personal experiences to connect to people which is shown in my work no matter the premise.
