ReFrame Stamp
A graduate from La Sierra University with a Bachelor of Fine Art in Film & Television Production, Michelle has earned awards for her short films, including, Best Dramatic Short and Best Director. Her film, “She Isn’t Here” nationally aired on the PBS show, “Film School Shorts” in April of 2019. Her most recent film, Illusory, has been awarded the ReFrame Stamp from IMDb Pro and Women In Film for having a gender balanced and ethnically diverse cast and crew. She has also had the opportunity to work as Assistant Editor on the award winning short film, “The Butterfly, The Harp, and The Timepiece” starring Oscar winning actress Melissa Leo.
She currently lives with her husband, Jesús, who fully supports her creative endeavors. They currently co-host a podcast entitled, “The Musty Creative” which gives them a platform to discuss the power of meaningful storytelling together.
Illusory was originally based on the premise that inducing a near death experience would cause someone's life to flash before their eyes, uncovering memories that were long forgotten. It evolved into a story about family and all it's dysfunction. But it also demonstrates what being family really means and the lengths someone would be willing to go through for someone that they love.
