Director Biography - Douglas Capron

I started my visual arts career documenting live music, particularly the Blues and Jazz scene, and made my first experimental film in 1997 which won an Honorable Mention at the US Super 8mm Film Festival, Rutgers University, New Jersey. This progressed to taking portraits of musicians and designing album covers which inspired me to explore photography as an art form. I recently rediscovered my passion for film making and have been producing and directing music videos. Future projects are in the preliminary phase with evolving screenplay and feature film development. One based on a true story of a detective mystery set in medieval Japan.

Director Statement

I am inspired by music and fascinated by the transformations and transitions that occur within nature and people and how our perception of time alternates with various life experiences. Cinematography allows me to express and share this passion by creating what is hopefully a sustainable dialogue between my subject and the viewer.
