Yota (Panagiota) Samioti is a photographer, writer, and academic based in Greece. She is a member of the WIFT.GR (Women in Film and Television, part of an international network of over 50 WIFT chapters on six continents) and co-founder of the artivist collective WINART.GR (Women in Art, NGO). Her work explores identity, trauma, and social justice. After contributing as a scriptwriter and producer on short films, she makes her directorial debut with Inner Harbour, a poetic meditation on mental health. Her practice experiments with silence, gesture, and imagery to create fragments rather than linear narratives, approaching cinema as a threshold — between visual art and film, between presence and absence — where viewers are invited to pause, reflect, and inhabit their own inner landscapes. Cinema is not only about telling stories but opening spaces of perception.
