Using the traditional two-dimensional animation technique, I have represented one of my most recurrent concerns, the fragility of the flesh. Our organism is perfect in some aspects, weak in others and certainly complex.
This concern has been present in our society since its beginnings. Popular religiosity and superstition go hand in hand. I use wax votive offerings that represent parts of our body offered to the divinity for healing purposes, miracles. I also represent snakes. The snake is used in pharmacies, symbolizing the power of poison, which can either kill or cure, once converted into medicine in the cup. It also alludes to healing or renewal, due to the snake's ability to shed its skin.
