I Like You.
In a world taken over by supernatural entities who destroy anything you grow to love or enjoy, two young men meet up for a dinner date. Despite their best efforts to keep an emotional distance, they begin to develop feelings for each other – a mistake that could end the burgeoning relationship before it begins.

Luis Ferreira is a former biologist and environmental consultant who made his acting debut in the short film “Olhos Que Não Vêem”. To date, his artistic training has passed through ACT and AMA in Portugal, and City Academy in UK. His most recent projects include the short films "One Night Lullaby" and "Nas Cordas". With the support of my colleagues, he's making his directorial debut with "Solum Requiem" and "I Like You."
This short film was based on a nightmare I had where I was walking down the street with a friend, stalked by an unseen creature. We were both cold and detached because we knew showing emotion would be the death of us.
So this got me thinking – what would happen to us as a society if the only way to survive was to never feel joy? How would that shape our way of thinking, of being? How would it affect childbirth, parenting, dating and so on?
Of course, being a young actor with virtually no budget, I had to adapt the concept to an idea that could be doable – hence, a utilitarian dinner date gone wrong when emotions start to show.
