ILAYARAJA
ILAYARAJA [ The Little King] is mainly focused on the life of a 45 year old man named
Vanajan, who takes on life with all the positive moves, never being
discouraged by his physical constraints. He is only 2 feet 6 inches tall
but that has never restricted his faith in life.
He lives in a modest house with his ailing father, wife, son and
daughter. His children helps him go to crowded places in a cart and
they roam around selling hot groundnut.
Vanajan’s life takes a crucial turn when a financier to whom he owes
money visits his house. He doesn’t have the money to pay off his
debts or the hefty interest.
On seeing a chessboard there, the financier comes up with an offer.
The game of chess becomes part of the story once again, at another
crucial juncture.
Ilayaraja tells how the game of chess influences the game called life.
It is also the story of a family’s struggles, confidence and survival.
When the going gets tough, some games start taking life ahead in a
curious way. Like it happened for Vanajan and his family.

The way of life of marginalized people- their basic needs of housing, food, clothing and education are far away from them and the situation is so painful. But still, the confidence that the outstretched hands give them is a great message that goodness will never go away . And those people who live in this state gives a wide realization and knowledge. I'm trying to look at all of this through this movie.
