Director Statement

As a filmmaker, I’m drawn to dark, genre-blurring narratives that push against the boundaries of horror, psychological thriller, and dark comedy. Provocative, yet absurdist, I want to explore the depths of human desire and obsession through unapologetically complex female protagonists. Subtle introductions of the surreal blur the line between reality and fantasy, upending narrative expectations in often funny and unsettling ways.

In general, my work is an expression of my hybridized existence, which reflects a third-culture obsession with “Americana” as I perceived it as a child— it's an outsider’s perspective that is equal parts yearning and cynical about the “American Experience”. Raised in a culture of storytelling and mythology, my films are often filtered through the lens of Latin America, imbued with the saturated colors and vertiginous sounds that surrounded me as a child.
